The GREEF NEW ENERGY GDG series disc-type permanent magnet generator features an innovative iron core-free design. This unique generator employs a spindle and rotor arranged in a disc shape, with the stator fixed at the center and rotors rotating on both sides. The spindle contains only windings without an iron core, contributing to its distinctive construction.
Both stator and rotor adopt a flat disc structure using axial air gap magnetic flux. They are alternately positioned along the axial direction, combined with the generator's short axial length and large diameter, facilitating multi-pole setup creation. This design ensures high power-to-mass ratio, supports low-speed operation, allows starting at low wind speeds, and results in a compact, lightweight generator with efficient energy consumption.
The GDG series generators are highly efficient with compact structure and reduced wind resistance when mounted on vertical axis wind turbines. Benefits include small size, light weight, and high overall efficiency, making them ideal for direct-drive vertical axis wind turbine applications.
Available in two configurations: outer rotor type (stationary casing with rotating rotor shaft, cables exiting from shaft center) and inner rotor type (fixed casing with rotating shaft, cables routed outside casing).
